Houston…we have a problem.

Have you ever moved to a new place and completely redefined yourself? I’m not talking about moving from an apartment to a house or from a condo to a townhouse. I’m talking from a small town to a big city. Well, that’s what I decided to do back in 2017. It really wasn’t in my plan but hell, nothing else in my life ever was so why not, right? I figured that I could reinvent myself in a big city. No one would know me. Not really. And I could really figure out who I was and where I wanted to be in life. So when my boss approached me about transferring, I gave it some thought and said yes. I had a “Let’s do this” attitude much like everything else in my life at the time. I was fearless and ready for a new adventure. After all, how hard could it be living in a new city? After about 4 months of trekking across Houston, filled with over 5 million residents, I finally found the part of town I wanted to be in. Shortly after, I found the home for me.

I was filled with excitement and ready for this new journey. Little did I know, Hurricane Harvey was brewing in the Atlantic but why should I care about that. I started unpacking a little everyday and 2 weeks later, my new sofa set arrived. That means you’re all settled in, yes? To me it does.

Yeah. That’s me laying on my sofa enjoying my new home. Too bad 6 days after this picture was taken, I would leave most of my things forever.
